1791 Louis XVI flees Paris, takes up residence in Montmedy
1793 Louis flees to Haiti

1794 Haitian Rebellion Crushed, Louis moves Royalist capital to New Orleans
Robespierre and his Committee for Public Safety become entrenched in Paris
1810 Wars of Liberation in South and Central America begin
1812 USA and Great Britain go to war
1813-1814 British General Arthur Wellesley burns much of New England
1815 Wellesley is ambushed and killed by Tennesseans under Andrew Jackson, who is also mortally wounded in the skirmish
1816 US invades Canada, burns York
1817 War of 1812 Ends (US Pyrrhic Victory)

1853-1860 Filibuster Wars. CSA Annexes Central American States and sets up a puppet government.
1853 William Walker sails from San Francisco to Lower California in the brig 'Caroline' with forty-five men. Walker captures La Paz and declares the Republic of Lower California free of Mexican rule. Minor skirmishes occur with local troops. After securing La Paz Walker sets up headquarters in Ensenada.
1854 Walker annexes Sonora. The name of the Republic is changed. New recruits from San Francisco pour into Ensenada. General Timothy Crocker dies leading a charge of the barricades at the battle of Guaymas, his sacrifice secures the Sonoran capital.
1855-1859 Sonoran War of Independence.
